Spider Vein Treatment

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot.

Vascular Reduction Laser

The Spectrum's Long Pulsed Yag laser will diminish the appearance of existing veins.  The laser light is delivered through the skin and into the vein.  The energy is absorbed and the vein walls collapse and seal shut.  Eliminating veins with the Spectrum laser is quick and effective for most individuals.  Treatments work on smaller veins (3mm or less).

What Are Spider Veins?

Spider veins are those tiny purple and red blood vessels most commonly found on the ankles, thighs or lower legs of both men and women.  More common in women, spider veins may be triggered by pregnancy or hormonal variations. Non-symptomatic spider veins may be found on the face and chest as well as the legs. Although surface veins are mainly a cosmetic problem, they can also be an indication of more serious vein disease deep below the surface.  Some symptoms that accompany spider veins include itching, restless leg, minor aches and pains, discomfort, swelling, tingling and even heaviness.  If left untreated, these symptoms only get worse over time.

Facial veins are dilated and broken capillaries, or blood vessels, in the face which can occur due to sun exposure, aging, trauma and genetics. Commonly affected are the nose, forehead and the cheeks. Most men and women can become self-conscious about these veins. Southern Beauty Aesthetics offers treatments to help correct these veins, which includes sclerotherapy and Spectrum's Long Pulse Lag Laser.
