How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
A Q-switched laser is the most frequently used laser for tattoo removal. The laser "fractures" the pigment into particles small enough for the ink to be removed using the body's natural filtering system. Your skin is not affected by this treatment. In most cases, the darker the ink the more likely it is to completely remove the tattoo. Lightly colors such as yellow and green, are more difficult to remove, but the Q-switched laser technology will reduce the color and significantly fade the tattoo.
This procedures takes approximately 30-40 minutes.
Is Laser Tattoo Removal Painful?
The sensation is similar to snap of a rubber band and level of discomfort depends on the location of the tattoo. Local anesthesia will be applied prior to treatment.
How Many Treatments Does Laser Tattoo Removal Take?
The number of treatments depends on the amount of ink, the size of the tattoo and location of the tattoo. Generally speaking, laser tattoo removal takes about 6 treatments. The best way to proceed is to schedule a no cost consultation so we can recommend the proper number of treatments for your situation.
