IPL THERAPY

Laser skincare treatment

What is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy?

Photo-rejuvenation refers to the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to treat conditions related to sun-induced skin damage. IPL uses a broad spectrum of light which is primarily absorbed by melanin and oxyhemoglobin and is effective in reducing the appearance of sun spots, capillaries, elastosis and fine lines.

What does Intense Pulse Light treat?

IPL or Intense Pulse Light technology is FDA approved for the treatment of hyperpigmentation (age spots, freckles and melasma; the mask of pregnancy) and facial redness caused by facial veins or rosacea. These treatments also improve the appearance of photo-aged skin and may reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pore size. IPL treatments gently deliver non-ablative laser like light to restore the skin’s youthful appearance. The most common areas treated are the face, neck, chest and hands. Our licensed medical spa professionals will customize your therapy to your need and specific skin concerns.

Procedure time

This procedures takes approximately 30-40 minutes.  A topical anesthetic will be applied prior to the procedure.

Post instructions

You may experience a slight redness to the treatment area, which usually disappears in an hour.  A soothing gel will be applied to your skin post procedure.  Sun screen should be applied for at least 24 hours post procedure.

How often should I get an IPL treatment?

We recommend doing this procedure in a series of 3-5 treatments. For even better results, IPLs can be combined with microdermabrasion facials to maximize improvement.

How much will IPL cost?

It is understandable that cost is always a factor in your decision.

Costs to consider include:

  • Areas being treated

  • Number of treatments required

  • Your ultimate goals
